Located in the parish of St. Elizabeth, Bamboo Avenue is very well-known in Jamaica. Not just because of the beautiful bamboo trees that lean over the road to create a shady tunnel, but because of the roadside food vendors that that sell fresh fruit and other goodies to eat. While Angela was in Jamaica she met a man who shared his recipe for Peanut Porridge so we decided to try it out and share the recipe with you.

Whether it’s cornmeal, green banana, plantain or oats, Jamaicans love their their porridge. Truth be told, though I heard of it, I’d never tasted Peanut Porridge until now. As it turns out Peanut Porridge, in this case also made with plantain, is very delicious and packs a protein punch.
