Guinness Stout Punch Recipe

In Jamaica there are two drinks that are known to be men drinks. One is Irish Moss and the other is Guinness Stout Punch. It has been said is that both make a man more virile. I’m not sure how true that is, but that’s the story that has been passed on for generations.
Quite a few of you have requested this recipe so I thought I’d share the one that most reminds me of the stout punch of my youth. Because I used the lighter Irish Guinness draught stout, it isn’t as bitter as it is when using English Guinness stout, which is fine by me. So, if you prefer a stronger, more bitter flavour buy the latter when making this recipe. It uses 5 ingredients and it literally takes 5 minutes! Enjoy!

2 cups Guinness Stout (Irish)
3/4 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg
1 large Egg, beaten
10 Ice Cubes

1. Put stout, milk and spices in blender and blend on High
2. Add beaten egg and blend again
3. Add ice cubes and blend until smooth
Serves 3 to 4

    Dragon Stout has a great flavour for baking and making drinks. I only use Dragon Stout for such purposes. I find it is not as harsh as the Guiness. Unfortunately, not all the LCBOs sell Dragon.

    Thanks for posting my dear! I grew up drinking this punch as a lad and haven’t had it in years. My stepfather would ad some lemon peel to break up the bitterness with a little citrus flavor. My American friends always think I’m crazy when i speak of the drink i loved as a lad made from Guinness and raw eggs. Ha! Cant wait up to whip up a batch!

    I love this recipe and am going to make it today!!! I’ve seen similar recipes with oatmeal and peanuts, is this just another variation or is it a different drink altogether? Also Im watching your videos and wondering why I married my American Irish wife, and is it too soon to propose to you!!!! LOL

      Sorry I’m taken…LOL. Stout punch as I know it does not use oats or peanuts. I’m not sure what the oats drink is be but perhaps with the peanuts you’re referring to peanut punch. Fay

    Momma , I want to try this , but I don’t like the raw eggs either. Could I substitute raw eggs for egg whites instead?

      Hi Samuel,
      Thank you for your question. Including an egg is the traditional way to make this drink. However, if you’re not comfortable using raw egg I suggest you omit it all together. You’ll still get a lovely tasting drink to enjoy. Blessings, Fay

    Just wanted to say the following – I have been living in Belgium for the last 5years and unfortunately have been very ill when it came to the food! having lost way to much weight I decided to check out the internet for Guinness punch recipes because that’s what my mother used to give us when we were sick and couldn’t eat. I was so happy to find your recipe and used it immediately right down to the raw egg. Maybe I’m a little drunk (I take a glass every morning for breakfast!) but I have to say that it worked and now I am eating again. Thank you so much. xxx

    Wow this is pretty good. I was hesitant about the raw egg but that\’s where all the protein is coming from. If you don’t like Guinness you will LOVE this punch. Its sweet and tasty!!!

    Great quick recipe! Use Guinness Extra Stout as the Guinness draught here in the States is a bit weak.

    Thank you for this recipe, I have been looking for it ever since I tried it at a long lost Jamaican friends house many years ago over 16 years now in fact it made me go virile eyes close. I’m gonna try this again .

    You can use pasteurized liquid egg instead of raw egg in shell.
