June 10, 2023

If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll know that, in June, Angela and I were featured on a local cooking show called Look I Cook. For some reason I was very nervous, but it turned out to be quite a lot of fun… and an all-day affair! I’m used to filming our videos in a few hours then sitting down to eat. What I discovered is that it takes a lot more time for a real cooking show to do what we do. Never-the-less, I as delighted when I saw the finished product!

I think they did a great job of telling our background story. And we got to teach their audience about some of the nuances of Jamaican cooking. And, for those of you who have only seen my daughter Angela in photos, here’s your chance to see her in front of the camera for the first time… a place she prefers not to be. However, I think you’ll be seeing (not just hearing) her more alongside me soon.

The day the show aired I invited everyone over to my house to watch it and eat… of course. After the show, it was so nice to find out that people from as far away as Trinidad were able to tune in via satellite TV! Now we’re so happy to be able to share our episode of Look I Cook with the majority of you who didn’t get to see it! Also make sure to watch my behind-the-scenes video from the day of the TV shoot. You’ll get a good sense of just how nervous I was in before things got rolling.

Now that I’m back from Florida, I’ll be back to providing you with more delicious weekly Jamaican recipes again. Thank you for your requests! Keep them rolling. Blessings, Fay
